Buying Linux is about buying a service for freely available source code. We can, at some stage or another, all offer the same software. In-house development is critical, not since it defines what is available, but because it defines when the software becomes available to you and how effectively you can be supported for this part of your system.
So - when buying a subscription service to a Linux distribution (whether open or closed) what you should be paying for is (a) the provider’s ability to renew and enhance the code (integrating new versions of tools and packages, implementing bug fixes, etc) and (b) the provider’s ability to provide you with the technical support and guidance so that you can get your system up and running quicker.
Arabella’s commitment to broad, updated and open Linux systems is already on record. Our offerings (all based on in-house work in either development or modification, integration and testing of existing open-source packages) span more protocols and applications than available from any individual provider. Furthermore, we have a team of engineers whose hands-on experience and expertise in Freescale devices will not be surpassed anywhere!
